Receptions are free of charge for all current members of the Nucleus Club and Catalina Democrats. Non-members will be asked to make a contribution of $20 at the door or in advance.
Nucleus Club meeting will be inviting/hosting the Democratic candidates for the City Council races this election year, 2019. The Primary is on August 27, 2019, the General is on Nov. 5, 2019.
Who’s running so far (nomination petitions due end of May):
Ward 1 (open seat): former CD 3 Congressional aide Sami Hamed, former Ward 3 Chief of Staff Miguel Ortega, former Ward 1 Senior Council aide Dr. Lane Santa Cruz, political newcomer/businessman Rob Elias
Ward 2: incumbent Councilman Paul Cunningham
Ward 4 (open seat): Nikki Lee, former candidate for LD 10 House (lost in Dem primary in Aug. 2018), and political newcomer Brian Brennan.
Meeting starts at 12:00, so plan to arrive at 11:30am to get your lunch and meet like minded Democrats of Greater Tucson (DGT). We ask all attendees to patronize our host restaurant either by purchasing a $10 Buffet & Drink ticket or just a $3.50 Drink Ticket (tip not included).
