A Note from the
Board President
The Green Valley Democrats’ mission…
We are a community organization that stimulates and promotes democratic values.
At our last monthly program, we presented Pima County Attorney Laura Conover and Sheriff Chris Nanos. Laura offered advice on scams and frauds. Sheriff Nanos shared information on how to stop violence against women. He addressed the need to report the out-of-control Republicans on street corners. Sadly, the attendance at that meeting was less than two-dozen. Deedra Abboud, immigration lawyer spoke to us at the second program of the month on immigration.
Democracy doesn’t work unless we all work it together. In April, Connie Williams is speaking on water needs in Arizona and Green Valley. Please attend. She is a board member of the Friends of the Santa Cruz River.
This month the Arizona State legislature passed several bills on Voting Rights, Education/Schools, and Health. Request to Speak (check it out at azleg.gov) is one way to keep informed. Also each week our GVD Discussion Group meets to talk about these and national issues.
We take our Vision Statement: “We will be a premier resource providing opportunities for meaningful involvement in the democratic process,” very seriously. Visit our website: greenvalleydemocrats.org for links and up-to-date info. Copy the zoom links to your calendar it’s an easy way to remember.
If we are not providing what you are looking for, email us at SantaRitaDems@gmail.com or call and leave a message at 520-838-0590.
Get involved we value your input.
